Punjab police to contribute to dams fund

IG Punjab said the police personnel would collectively contribute Rs12.38 million to the fund.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab police have decided to contribute to the account set up to collect funds for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams.

Senior police officials will donate their two-day salary while junior staff, while junior staff will contribute their one-day salary to Diamer Basha and Mohmand Dams Fund - 2018.

The Punjab police chief, while lauding the initiative by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar, said the police personnel would collectively contribute Rs120.38 million to the fund.

Syed Kaleem Imam also directed officials concerned to address water wastage in police lines, training colleges, police stations and related offices on immediate basis.

He said construction of new dams is the need of the hour to address water scarcity which has reached an alarming level in Pakistan.
