Expired CNICs to be valid for voting: Nadra
Nadra has directed courier companies concerned to ensure the dispatch of ID cards on weekends too.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - A high-level meeting of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) was held in Islamabad on Friday and was presided over by its Chairman Usman Mobeen.
The meeting took decisions regarding on-time printing of computerised national identity cards and their delivery before July 25, to continue printing process 24 hours a day and opening of Nadra offices across the country.
The offices will remain open on Saturday and Sunday and even on election day till 02:00pm.
The meeting decided to print all CNICs including those of normal category on urgent basis in view of the upcoming elections on July 25.
The participants were told that all applications for new CNICs received before July 16 are being processed expeditiously, whereas, Nadra is not confiscating the old cards of the applicants since July 16.
Voters in posession of expired identity cards are also eligible to cast votes.
