Met office predicts intermittent rain in upper parts of country

Met Office has predicted rain-thundershower with gusty winds at scattered places.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Meteorological Department on Friday predicted intermittent rainfall in upper parts of the country throughout the day.

Light rain with gusty winds in several cities of Punjab including Lahore and its adjacent areas in the wee hours of the day turned the weather pleasant.

Rain was also reported in Multan, Jhang, Larkana, Quetta, Peshawar, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and several other cities across the country while unexpected snowfall in the month of April was witnessed in Chaman and Chitral.

Heavy rainfall in Quetta, Chaman and Qila Abdullah disconnected the land connection.

According to PMD, a westerly wave is still affecting upper and central parts of the country and likely to persist during next 24 to 36 hours.

Met Office has predicted rain-thundershower with gusty winds at scattered places in Islamabad, upper Punjab including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Lahore divisions, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat divisions, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.

According to the forecast for Saturday, mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and its adjoining hilly areas.
