Section 22 of Election Act can become a hurdle in timely elections: Khursheed Shah
The opposition leader said that delay in notification of delimitations is root cause of the issue.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Leader of Oppposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Thursday warned that Section 22 of the Election Act could become a hurdle in holding general elections on time.
Talking to media in Islamabad, while identifying flaws in the Election Act said that it would be impossible to hold upcoming general elections on time by using Section 22.
The opposition leader said that the delay in notification of delimitations is root cause of the issue.
While strongly recommending the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to look for solution of the issue expressed fear of legal problems after elections.
“Everyone wants elections to be held on time,” he said.
