Bilawal announces to resume rallies in Punjab after Senate elections

Bilawal has sought final schedule of the public gatherings from the Punjab wing of PPP.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto on Thursday has announced to resume process of holding rallies across the Punjab after Senate elections that is due on March 3.

According to party sources, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Gujrat, Sargodha, Okara and other adjoining cities will be covered in first phase. Party membership procedure will also be sped up.

Bilawal has sought final schedule of the public gatherings from the Punjab wing of PPP and directed them to get ready to exercise political muscles in the province. 

He also demanded equal political rights for PPP in Punjab, saying that workers of PPP are being killed and attacked in the province. He further vowed to free masses of South Punjab from  Takht-e-Raiwind .

It is to be mentioned here that Mian Raza Rabbani, Maula Bux Chandio, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, and Murtaza Wahab from PPP are among those 33 applicants applied for Senate elections.

Earlier, PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari had asserted to carry out electioneering alongside Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Balochistan and Punjab while his daughters Asifa Bhutto and Bakhtawar Bhutto would campaign in Sindh for General Elections 2018.

On the other hand, in a recently held Lodhran NA-154 by-election, Ali Mirza Baig of had secured 3,148 votes while Pir Iqbal Shah of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) won the polls with 1,16,590 votes.
