Punjab government has approved establishment of universities in Sialkot and Narowal.

GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) – Punjab government has approved establishment of universities in Sialkot and Narowal, missing out Gujranwala once again.

After the University of Gujrat, universities of Sialkot and Narowal will be flagship educational institutions in their respective districts.

However, Gujranwala has been left out of consideration again despite being divisional headquarter and giving federal cabinet three ministers.

According to the latest census, the current population of Gujranwala stands at 5014000 individuals which makes it the second biggest city of Punjab after Lahore.

Politically too, Gujranwala is a stronghold of the party in power in centre and in Punjab, the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, which has often advocated making inexpensive education accessible to the people.
