Bilawal accuses me of Benazir's murder due to fear of father: Musharraf
The ex-President reacted to statements of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman in Wednesday's rally
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The ex-President Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday claimed that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto is wrongly accusing him of the murder of his mother Benazir Bhutto owing to the fear of his father.
He made the remarks while talking to Kamran Khan in programme Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath. He refuted the allegations that link him to the assassination of Benazir, claiming that Bilawal, Zardari and Nawaz Sharif want to pressurise him as well as the armed forces.
The ex-President reacted to statements of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman in which he said that Musharraf exploited the entire situation to assassinate my mother. "He claimed that the former president purposely sabotaged her security so that she would be assassinated and taken off the scene," Bilawal said.
Musharraf hit back at PPP for chanting slogans against him at the 10th death anniversary rally of Benazir. “Don’t raise allegations on me like a child, bring proof,” he said.
On a question, he reaffirmed his stance that the security arrangements for Benazir were not his responsibility, adding that the then government had provided the best security for her protection. He supposed that Benazir would have been safe if she had stayed in the car.
Musharraf hinted that PPP co-chairman Zardari and Bilawal were benefited after Benazir’s murder and not him. He claimed that Zardari presented fake will to exploit the wealth and political party of Benazir.
