Foreign Office verified the ethnicity of the deceased after DNA reports came in

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign office has verified the ethnicity of two Chinese citizens who were killed in June 2017 after their DNA reports came in.

Lee Zing Yang, 24, and Meng Li Si, 26, were abducted from Jinnah Town Quetta on May 24 and later murdered by the Islamic State.

According to the then Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar, the duo was came to Pakistan for preaching purposes under the garb of learning Urdu from a Korean National who teaches Urdu in Pakistan.

The then Interior Minister was informed that the two were part of a group of Chinese citizens who obtained business visas from the Pakistani Embassy in Beijing and entered Pakistan.

The Spokesperson for Foreign Office condemned the killing of the Chinese citizens and informed that they were kidnapped from Quetta adding that the matter will be investigated and those responsible, will be brought to justice.

The spokesperson also offered condolences on behalf of Paksitan and in a gesture of gratefulness, said that China’s cooperation in war against terror is appreciable, adding that Pakistan will keep playing its role in struggle for world peace.
