Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that the whereabouts of 29,000 votes registered at NA-120 are not known

Lahore (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) senior member and their yesterday’s contestant for NA-120 by-election has called for confirmation of 29,000 votes, before the final result is announced, reported Dunya News.

She was addressing a press conference at chairman secretariat, Lahore. Rashid thanked PTI workers for their support. “I said earlier too, that whether I win or lose, I will raise the issue of 29,000 votes,” Rashid asserted. She said that she fought this election even after knowing about 29,000 votes and she had the backing of her party throughout.

Dr. Rashid further said that she has submitted a petition at election commission of Pakistan. “PML-N used the state machinery to boost their election campaign,” she alleged. “Even after notices sent to ministers and advisors, all of them were present during the election campaign. “Election Commission didn’t take any action against them,” she criticized. She further said that state television covered Maryam Nawaz’s election campaign 24 hours which is a serious violation of election code.

PTI leader further said that there is a difference between a minister asking for vote and a contestant asking for vote. “Ministers made promises in the constituency, Maryam Nawaz asked the chairmen of Zakat committees to vote for her,” she complained. She said that she will take Election Commission to the court.

While talking to the media on this occasion, Tehreek-e-Insaf Punjab President Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhary paid tribute to Dr. Yasmin Rashid’s relentless hard work during NA-120 by-election campaign. He said that the lead taken by Kulsoom Nawaz was nominal. He gave Dr. Yasmin Rashid the title of “iron lady”.
