Anti-polio campaign continues in Balochistan on second day
The drive has set target to administer polio drops to at least 24,05,400 children.
QUETTA (Dunya News) – Three-day anti-polio campaign is underway in all the districts of Balochistan including Quetta on second day.
According to details, the drive has set target to administer polio drops to at least 24,05,400 children in the province.
The campaign is being run by 9489 teams for whom strict security measures are in place. Every anti-polio team is accompanied by two police personnel while carrying out duties.
Pakistan hopes to be removed from the list of polio-endemic countries by 2018 by achieving its goal of no fresh cases for a year.
Pakistan is one of only two countries in the world where polio, a crippling childhood disease, remains endemic.
