QUETTA (Dunya News) - Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti on Tuesday said that all political parties demand delay in local government (LG) elections in the province, Dunya News reported.
Speaking to the media in the provincial capital Quetta, Sarfaraz Bugti said that the province is facing drought and it is not in my power to make it rain.
He stated that a programme on climate change has been held in Islamabad, adding that the effects of climate change are more severe in Balochistan. He said that natural disasters are not limited to provinces, and that a climate fund has been established despite limited resources.
CM Bugti said that a clear reduction in the rate of terrorism is being observed in the province. He added that in the past, local government elections in Quetta were stopped by the court. He questioned which elections have a term of eight months, and said that all political parties requested the governor to postpone the local government elections.
The Chief Minister said, “Which government wants innocent people to be killed? It is the state’s responsibility to establish the writ of the government.” He added that 700 terrorists have been killed in one year in Baloshistan.
