NA-120 by-poll: Last day of campaigning underway

The polling for the by-poll will be held on September 17 (Sunday).

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The political parties are making their final efforts to convince voters in NA-120 on the last day of campaigning before the by-poll today (Friday).

The contesting participants including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Dr Yasmin Rashid and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz, on the behalf of her mother Kulsoom Nawaz who underwent a surgery in London, are continuing electoral campaign in the constituency.

Faisal Mir from Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is also active in the drive.

The electoral campaign will end at 12 am today after which no party will be allowed to hold any kind of political movement in NA-120.

The polling for the by-election will be held on September 17 (Sunday).

It is to be mentioned here that the seat fell vacant after Supreme Court (SC) disqualified Nawaz Sharif over Panama Leaks case on July 28.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan held public rally at Data Darba and said that the nation will defeat corruption mafia in Sunday’s by-election., adding that it will bring an end to the 30 year rule of Sharif family.

He said that Maryam Nawaz used to lie before Panama leaks that Sharif family doesn’t have a company in Pakistan.

On the other hand, ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz said that she has not seen such enthusiasm in her entire life. “This enthusiasm will convert into votes, September 17 will inflict defeat on the forces who conspired against Nawaz Sharif,” she added.
