It has been requested by Sharif family that review petitions should be heard by a five-member bench

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court of Pakistan’s three-member bench headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan will begin hearing the review petitions filed by Nawaz Sharif and his children on Tuesday, reported Dunya News.

Nawaz Sharif, Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz and Maryam Nawaz had requested delaying the hearing of miscellaneous petitions. The bench will be headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, while other two members include Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed.

It has been requested by the Sharif family that review petitions should be heard by a five-member bench because a three-member bench won’t be able to overturn the decision of a five-member bench.

Therefore, until the petitions are heard by a five-member bench, petitions filed against a three-member bench should be delayed. Earlier, Supreme court s five-member bench had disqualified the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and had instructed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file petitions for further review.
