Karachi: Anti Measles campaign begins

Anti Measles campaign has been started in Karachi on Friday and that will continue for two weeks. O.5 million children will be vaccinated during the campaign.

Talking to media after the inauguration of campaign in Sindh Hospital, Sindh Minister for Health Dr Saghir Ahmed said that the disease has spread at vide level , therefore, special campaign for children in Karachi was started. He said that more than 80 percent of all 73 measles cases identified in Karachi in 2010.He said 752 teams comprising skilled technical personnel and motivational supervisors have been constituted adding that children aged between nine months to 13 years would be vaccinated till 5 of March. WHO and UNICEF would monitor the campaign.
