In a tweet that came soon after the announcement of the ‘historic’ verdict, she tweeted: “Good riddance to the man who tried to get me jailed when I was pregnant with my second child.” In a short series of tweets, Goldsmith welcomed the decision while recalling how ‘Zionist’ theories had destroyed her life when she was married to Khan almost two decades ago.

According to BBC, Goldsmith, who was married to Khan at the time, was charged in Pakistan with illegally exporting hundreds of antique tiles back in 1999. The tiles were more than 400-year-old antiques of paramount archeological significance according to archeological officials.
Goldsmith was accused of smuggling 397 antique tiles despite her convincing officials that they were not antique and the shop keep’s assurance that the tiles had no historical value.
The charges were laid during the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s term.
Goldsmith returned to Pakistan to face the charges after Sharif had been overthrown by General Musharraf.
"I asked Jemima not to return to Pakistan because Nawaz Sharif wanted her arrested under the false charges of smuggling antiques," Imran Khan had said.
Goldsmith who’s also a journalist wrote on Twitter: In future the next Prime Minister will serve the 5 year term, indicating towards her support for Imran Khan. She has been a staunch supporter of her former husband who had been running first, a campaign against alleged rigging during the 2013 general elections in which PMLN emerged as the clear winner, and later, an anti-corruption campaign against Nawaz Sharif after the Sharif family’s name came up in the Panama Papers leaks last year.
No civilian PM of Pakistan has ever completed a full 5 yr term. Inshallah the next one will. https://t.co/OpSlp7y4W4
