PTI calls off protests as Panama verdict tomorrow
The party had announced symbolic demonstrations in several cities, demanding PM's resignation
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has taken back its announcement to hold symbolic protests across various cities of the country to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The call off came right after media reported that Panama case verdict will be announced on Friday. The original 5-member bench including Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and Justice Gulzar will announce the decision at 11:30am tomorrow.
PTI leaders had previously announced that they will place protest camps across different cities of the country from tomorrow. Their aim was to force PM Nawaz resign before the Supreme Court gives its final verdict. Several PTI leaders have claimed that the press conference of Chaudhry Nisar today has damaged the ruling PML-N as he declared to esign the day SC announces Panama case verdict
While media talk, PTI leader from Sialkot Usman Dar had declared to take legal action against the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) ministers with Iqama. They will also submit ineligibility references in Election Commission of Pakistan against Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal.
Dar said, “Khawaja Asif takes 50,000 dirhams from his Abu Dhabi employer.” PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry claimed that more names will be revealed in the near future in Iqama Leaks other than PM Nawaz Sharif, Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar whose Iqama was been publicly displayed.
