Indian forces kill two civilians in cross-border fire at LoC

Foreign Office spokesman said unprovoked firing at Baroh and Tandar sectors injured six

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees said Indian forces in held Kashmir have violated the Line of Control (LoC) ceasefire and carried out unprovoked firing.

The soldiers of neighbouring state opened unprovoked fire at Baroh and Tandar sectors along the control line. Two civilians were killed and six injured due to the ceasefire violation.

“India s deliberate targeting of civilians is condemnable and detrimental to regional peace,” the FO spokesperson said.

Yesterday, Director General Military Operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and India established hotline contact after the Indian forces targeted a military vehicle of Pak Army in Neelum Valley killing four soldiers. Pakistan DGMO Major General Sahir Shamshad Mirza warned his Indian counterpart General AK Bhatt saying, “Such incidents of aggression can pose a threat to the regional security and peace.”

It was earlier stated that the Indian forces had committed at least 542 ceasefire violations in 2017 until now.
