Federal Information Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that higher position demands higher sacrifice. She said that foreign ministry is a key post that is why the prime minister kept this office for himself.

Addressing a press conference after offering Fatiha at the monument of Benazir Bhutto in Rawalpindi, she said, “Information ministry is an important office and as an information minister I will be a bridge between the government and the media”. She said that the country was facing internal and external challenges and she expected that media would help the government to cope with those challenges. She said that it was not decided yet when new ministers would be added in the cabinet. Shah Mehmood Qureshi is a senior party member and the party needs him, she said, adding that Qamar Zaman Qaira and his family had made many sacrifices for the country that were not hidden to anyone.Considering the current circumstances, the office of foreign minister is vital that is why the prime minister being the most important man in the setup has this office, she added. The minister said that the government would fully cooperate with the court, when asked, for the arrest of former president Pervez Musharraf.
