The chief minister was also informed that there are about 6,000 prisoners present in the jail
KARACHI (Dunya News) – While taking severe action over the escape of two under-trial prisoners from Karachi Central Jail, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has issued the suspension orders of Prisons DIG Ashraf Nizamani and SHO New Town.
Moreover, a show-cause notice has also been issued to the DIG over his alleged negligence in the affair.
Sindh Chief Minister revealed this in a briefing session at CM House as he was informed that the SHO did not correctly register the FIR in the case.
Murad Ali Shah was of the opinion that the prison break was impossible without the authority’s help and that he won’t spare those responsible in the matter.
The chief minister was also informed that there are about 6,000 prisoners present in the jail.
It is worth mentioning here that two under-trial prisoners (UTPs), Sheikh Muhammad alias Firon and Ahmed Khan alias Manako managed to escape from the jail’s judicial complex on June 15.
