Defense Ministry takes notice, PALPA president, Gen Secy dismissed

After the dismissal of 6 pilots including PALPA president and general secretary, joint action committee has threatened to cancel all the flights.

Meanwhile, several local and foreign flights have already been cancelled. PIA joint action committee has threatened to block the system if the agreement with Turkish Airline is not revoked. After this warning, 30 pilots reported their sick leave on Monday night. Due to their immediate leave, several local and foreign flights were disrupted. The PIA committee staged a protest at Karachi Airport and shouted slogans against MD PIA. On the other hand, PIA spokesman said that no agreement or Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) had been signed with Turkish Airline (TA). PIA and TK have proposed a code share arrangement, he said adding that the code share agreements that are being done by most of the airlines to increase profitability and enhance routes without incurring additional costs.
