PPMA calls off strike against Punjab Drug Act

PPMA Chairman Dr Qaiser Waheed has said that factories have been reopened.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Pharmaceuticals Manufacturers’ Association (PPMA) has called off strike Thursday against Punjab Drug Act.

As per details, PPMA Chairman Dr Qaiser Waheed has said that factories have been reopened after getting assurance from the government that the new drug act will be amended.

Earlier, PPMA had staged protest against Punjab Drug Act and declared to close the pharmaceutical industry in Karachi.

Chairman PHM told Dunya News that there are 150 pharmaceutical units in Karachi which not only fulfil the 70 percent consumption of medicine in the entire country, but also pay heavy taxes to the government.
