Terming it a well-timed and sane demand, Secretary General of Jamiat Ulema Islam (F) Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri has reiterated his party chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman's demand seeking PM Gilanis resignation, Dunya News reported on Monday. Flanked by PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujat and Parvez Elahi outside the formers residence, Ghafoor told the mediamen that JUI-F has given a formal application in both the Houses to sit on the opposition benches. He added that the decision of MQM to pull out of the coalition rendered a different situation to the already charged political scene. Ruling out any chances to rejoin the coalition, he asserted We will play the role of a true and active Opposition in the Parliament, and added that the incumbent government has lost majority and thus is in a position to quit at anytime soon. Replying to a query, Ghafoor said that consultation with the PML-Q regarding important situation in the country remained intact always. Meanwhile, Ch Shujat confirmed that PM Gilani is coming over to meet him, but added that the final decision would be taken after due consultations with the party. Shujat quipped that the situation might be defused if Maulana Fazalur Rehman, now-a-days in Saudi, would pray passionately in Khana Kaaba. Earlier, Ghafoor held a crucial meeting with the PML-Q leaders to discuss the status quo.
