Punjab government announces winter holidays
All educational institutes in Punjab will remain closed from December 25, 2016 to January 1, 2017
LAHORE (Daily Dunya) – The government of Punjab has announced holidays for the winter season. According to the notification, all educational institutes will remain closed from December 25, 2016 to January 1, 2017.
Winter solstice: Shortest day of the year today
The Punjab Education Department has given a statement in which the given holidays were announced. A regular notification of the holidays has been issued.
The notification for holidays came after the consistent decrease in the temperature of Punjab’s provincial capital Lahore and other cities. It abides all schools, colleges and universities to give vacations to students in the specified period.
These winter holidays will witness both the occasions of Christmas Day and New Years.
