It will be longest night, shortest day as sunrise would be at 6:59 am and sunset would be at 5:04 pm
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Today is the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year and the longest night, reported Dunya News.
The Met Department said that the sun will rise at 6:59 am and will set at 5:04 pm, making the day only 10 hours long.The days would now start lengthening till June 20 to June 21 when again the process would repeat itself.
On or around June 21 each year, the rays of the sun become perpendicular to the Tropic of Cancer at 23°30 North latitude. This day is the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere.
