Pakistan's DGMO establishes hotline contact with Indian equal

Pakistan is awaiting Uri evidence for over two months since last hotline contact

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) has contacted his Indian counterpart over hotline and discussed situation at the Line of Control (LoC) on Wednesday.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has reported that the DGMO contacted Indian counterpart after unprovoked Indian firing and shelling cause ten casualties including three soldiers at the LoC.

Before Indian firing claimed lives of Captain Taimoor, Hawaldar Mushtaq Hussain and Lance naik Ghulam Hussain at the LoC, Indian forces targeted a passenger coach in Neelum Valley of Azad Kashmir that left seven dead and seven wounded.

The last time DGMOs of the two states established a hotline contact was after an attack on Indian army in Baramulla District in September that left 19 soldiers dead and several injured.

Pakistani DGMO had demanded evidence for accusations against Pakistan that were leveled by the Indian army, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi and Union Home minister, Rajnath Singh.

However, Pakistan is awaiting the evidence after over two months.
