PPP declared victorious in PS-14 Jacobabad by-elections
Heavy contingent of the police and Rangers were deputed in most sensitive polling stations.
JACOBABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) won by-elections in PS-14 Jacobabad by a heavy margin, reported on Sunday.
According to unofficial results, PPP’s Aurangzeb Panhore took 24,084 votes whereas Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mohammad Aslam Abro stood on second number with 13,498 votes.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Raja Khan Jakhrani managed to get 8,960 votes.
Total number of voters in the constituency was 1,45,756 including 77,610 men and 68,347 women voters while heavy contingent of the police and Rangers were deputed inside and outside the most sensitive declared polling stations.
Reportedly, no furniture had been provided by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in different polling stations.
The seat had fallen vacant after the demise of PPP’s Sardar Muqeem Khan Khoso.
