Child among four killed, 2 injured in Karachi shooting incidents
Karachi has long been gripped by violence.
KARACHI (Web Desk) – Four persons including a 12-year-old boy were killed and two women sustained injuries in separate shooting incidents in Karachi, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
According to police, twelve-year-old Awais was injured in shooting by suspected robbers in Shoe Market area of Garden Town. He was rushed to the nearby hospital but could not survive.
On the other hand, an identified bullet-riddled body was found on Hawksbay road.
Separately, two persons were killed and two women were injured during armed clash between two rival groups in Memon Goth area.
The deceased have been identified as Karam Khan and Muhammad Bakhsh while the injured women have been identified as Imam Bibi and Zisher Bibi.
All the victims belonged to Balochistan.
Malir SSP Rao Anwar stated that suspected shooter Sadiq has been arrested from the spot and his weapon has been confiscated.
The clash occurred over a family dispute, he added.
Karachi has long been gripped by violence, with attacks carried out by militants as well as ethnic separatists, criminal gangs and rival political parties.
The law enforcement agencies launched a major crackdown on militants and criminals in the city, which is the country s economic hub, in 2013 and levels of violence have dropped drastically since then.
