Pakistan is observing Black Day today against Indian brutalities in Indian-occupied Kashmir.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistani nation is observing Black Day today (Wednesday) to express solidarity with their Kashmiri brethren who are being subjected to worst brutalities in Indian-occupied Kashmir by Indian armed forces.
The Federal Government has already directed ministries, divisions and provincial governments to observe the Day and express solidarity with Kashmiris and lodge protest against Indian atrocities.
Rallies and functions would be held across Pakistan and Azad Kashmir to draw attention of the world community towards the burning issue of Kashmir.
The Cabinet Secretariat/Division has directed the authorities concern to comply with the directive of the Prime Minister and the decision of the Federal Cabinet on July 15 to observe the Black Day in order to express solidarity and lodge protests against grave human rights violations in the Indian-occupied Kashmir.
The officials have also been directed to wear black arm bands while performing their duties to express political, moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiris during working hours.
Special prayers would be offered for the departed souls of martyred Kashmiris after Zohar prayers for the Shuhada of Kashmir.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been directed by the political leadership to instruct all Pakistani missions abroad to highlight Indian brutality in Kashmir through media platforms and mobilize nationals to lodge protests in front of the respective parliaments of different countries and the United Nations organizations.
Protestors are required to draw attention to the resolution adopted by United Nations Security Council regarding grant of right to self determination to Kashmiris.
Until July 15, 40 deaths were reported in the Indian-held Kashmir by troops that exercise aggression on peace-loving locals demanding freedom of choice.
The call to observe black day on July 20 was made by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif after tensions in the valley escalated following killing of Burhan Wani, a freedom fighter.
