Monsoon rain spell has begun across the country.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Rain with strong winds is likely on Tuesday in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore.

Scattered rain and dust-thundershower with isolated heavy falls accompanied by strong gusty winds occurred in Punjab, FATA, Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Sindh, Quetta, Kalat divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan in the last twelve hours.

However, rain/dust-thundershower with isolated heavy falls accompanied by strong gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Balochistan (Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Makran divisions), KP (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu, D.I. Khan divisions), FATA, Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Multan, D.G Khan divisions), Islamabad and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Sindh (Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad divisions) and Gilgit-Baltistan in next 24 hours.

The wind is expected to blow at a speed of 80km/hour in Balochistan Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 100km/hour in upper Punjab.

Isolated rain and dust-thunderstorm is likely to occur in South Punjab and Lower Sindh.

Muggy weather will persist in Karachi due to the suspension of offshore wind however; rain is likely in the evening.

Widespread rain in various cities brought both comfort and distress for the people.

Roads were inundated in Quetta, Sukkur making it difficult for the people to travel and move. Power went off in several areas due to which the people were forced to eat Sehri in dark.

Temperature of some major cities recorded on Tuesday morning:

Islamabad 23°C, Lahore 28°C, Karachi 30°C, Peshawar 27°C, Quetta 21°C, Gilgit 24°C, Murree 18°C and Muzaffarabad 20°C.
