Twitterati mourn Amjad Sabri's murder
Sources state that Sabri had asked for protection as he was receiving threats
LAHORE (Web Desk) – Renowned Pakistani qawwali singer Amjad Sabri was shot dead in Karachi on Wednesday as he was heading towards the studio of a television channel to take part in an Iftar transmission along with his assistant.
Sabri was gunned down by unidentified gunmen in the Liaquatabad area and died on-spot whereas the person travelling along with him got severely injured and was shifted to a hospital.
Renowned Pakistani artists, singers and politicians condemned the tragic incident and demanded immediate action against those responsible.
Twitter users expressed their grief over the sad happening using the hashtag #AmjadSabri .
