Khan accused PM Nawaz of spending public's money for renovation of his Murree residence

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan Sunday criticised government s heavy spending on personal property in a tweet. Meanwhile Federal Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid responded to the allegation saying that Khan was does not speak the truth. Khan had earlier returned to Pakistan after performing Umrah and held a meeting with Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed. 

Khan tweeted that Rs 430 million have been approved for the renovation of the Prime Minister’s (PM) residence in Murree for the upcoming South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) conference. He also accused that public money has been spent in the past for the upgrading of the private houses belonging to the Sharif family.

Meanwhile discussion in regards to the Terms of References (TORs) forwarded to the government by the opposition parties was held during the meeting between the Khan and Rasheed. Furthermore, the government’s response to the TORs and the supposed situation that may develop afterwards was also brought under consideration.

Imran Khan and Sheikh Rasheed also discussed about the meeting of the opposition parties that is going to be held today. 

Reacting upon Khan’s allegations, Federal Minister of Information Pervaiz Rashid stated that Imran Khan has just returned after perfoming Umrah “but, alas, he has not looked upon his shortcomings”, he said. He said in a sarcastic tone that Khan has been abducted by the ‘lying factory’. Federal Minister said that only the Governor’s House is being renovated in regards to the conference.

While reacting to Imran Khan s statement PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz said that government buildings have also been declared as Sharif family s property.

On the other hand, Chairman PTI has been planning to address rally at Peshawar as arrangments have been made including special enclosure for women.
