ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Saturday has left for London to meet former president and co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari to discuss Panama leaks.

Before departing for London, Rehman Malik sent a letter to Interpol’s general secretary demanding formation of inquiry committee over Panama Papers leaks.

The leader said that investigation against Panama government should be launched at first priority. He said that legal action at international level is needed.

Talking to media, Malik said that PPP would not be the part of any sit-in, protest or rally.

He clarified that Asif Ali Zardari is in London due to his illness whereas PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto has already told about the meeting of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and Zardari.

Earlier, chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari tweeted that no meeting is being held between Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif.

PM Nawaz’s visit to Britain on Wednesday for a pending medical check-up had set political circles abuzz after he landed in controversy following the Panama Papers leak as PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari is also present there.

On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan also reached London while Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan was also in London.
