Khawaja Salman assures availability of seasonal influenza medicines at hospitals

High dependency units and special counters for the best treatment of patients made at hospitals.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Advisor on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique on Saturday assured that the medicines for seasonal influenza are available at pharmacies in respective hospitals.

Talking at a session organized to discuss the current situation of H1 and N1 seasonal influenza in Punjab, Salman Rafique said that high dependency units and special counters for the best treatment of patients have been arranged at various hospitals.

He said that the local government has taken every possible step to relief the nation, adding that the anti-flu medicines would be available at all the health centers while the patients would completely get assistance from doctors.

Earlier, Minister of National Health Services Regulation and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar said that there are no cases of Swine Flu in the country and seasonal influenza has caused the deaths. 

The minister has denied accepting the possibility of Swine Flu existence. While addressing a press conference, she said that at least 350 samples were tested at National Institute of Health (NIH) for the present strain of influenza. At least 110 of the total samples were tested positive, she added.
