Federal government in "halat-e-jang" while Sindh govt is in "halat-e-bhang": Senator Mushahidullah

PPP and other opposition parties walked out of the House in protest against the Senator's remarks.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Lashing out at the PPP-led Sindh government, Senator Mushahidullah Khan on Friday said that the federal government is in “halat-e-jang” (state of war) while the Sindh government is in “halat-e-bhang” (state of drunkenness), Dunya News reported.

The PML-N Senator gave these remarks in response to the situation in Karachi and non-extension in paramilitary Rangers’ policing powers in the province.

Meanwhile, the PPP and other opposition parties walked out of the House in protest against his remarks.

Later, Federal Minister for Railways Khwaja Saad Rafique convincd the opposition members to return to the floor.

Deputy Chairman Senate expunged Mushahidullah Khan’s remarks from the proceedings.

Recently, the Sindh and federal governments were engaged in war of words over Rangers  issue. 

The matter of extension in Rangers’ powers to conduct operation in Karachi became controversial when the Sindh government failed to issue a fresh notification before the expiry of the previous order on Dec 6.
