Won't even tolerate shadow of IS in Pakistan: Foreign Office
The world acknowledges Pakistan's sacrifices in the war on terror, says Foreign Office spokesperson
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Khalilullah Qazi has on Thursday said that Pakistan will not tolerate even a shadow of Islamic State (IS) in the country. He said that the world acknowledges Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war on terror, reported Dunya News.
In his weekly briefing to the media, Qazi said that a civil nuclear deal with India is a result of United States’ (US) discriminatory policy, which may prove damaging for the region.
Qazi added that Pakistan is completely aware of the threat of IS in the world and even a shadow of this organization will not be tolerated in Pakistan. He said that action is being taken against every kind of terrorists under Operation Zarb-e-Azb and National Action Plan. He said that the world acknowledges Pakistan’s sacrifices in this regard. “Terrorism cannot be linked to any religion in particular”, said Qazi.
The spokesperson further stated that Islam is a religion of peace. He said that no Pakistani was arrested by French authorities in the wake of Paris attacks. He said that IS exists in Iraq and Syria and international efforts have been expedited to eliminate terrorism after Paris attacks.
Talking about civil nuclear deal between India and the United States of America (USA), FO spokesperson said that the deal is a result of USA’s discriminatory policy. He said that by providing this technology to only one country in South Asia, USA might cause problems for the region.
Declining from confirming the participation of Indian Foreign Minister in Heart of Asia Conference, Khalilullah Qazi said that various countries have confirmed their participation. He said that participation of all the countries including India will be confirmed prior to the conference.
