Pakistan PM says Uzbekistan has a critical role in region, Karimov welcomes Pakistan's peace policy

TASHKENT: (Dunya News) – Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif and Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov have on Tuesday signed the deed to foster bilateral trade between the two countries. Nawaz and Karimov signed several agreements of cooperation in various fields. PM Nawaz said that Uzbekistan has a critical role to play in the region while Uzbek President welcomed Pakistan’s policy of peace, reported Dunya News.

PM Nawaz arrived in Tashkent earlier today on a 2-day visit and met the Uzbek President Islam Karimov. The two leaders signed various agreements of promoting bilateral trade. They also signed the protocol to avoid dual taxes.

In the joint conference, Nawaz Sharif said that both the countries enjoy multidimensional relations. He said that Uzbekistan has an important role in the region.

Speaking on the occasion, Islam Karimov welcomed Pakistan’s policy of peace and said that Pakistan’s roadmap for regional trade is of high importance.

During his meeting with French Ambassador Martine Dorance, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif remarked that Pakistan is ready to extend every possible assistance to France in this hour of grief.

He said anti-terrorism expertise will be shared with the French authorities.

Pakistan itself remained victim of terrorism and has been fighting this menace for many years. However, by the grace of God we gradually got rid of this menace, he added.

He said Pakistan always condemns all kind of terrorism wherever it happens and we are ready to play our role and to provide whatever we can so that the whole mankind could be saved from this menace.

On the occasion, the French ambassador said the French people and government has a lot to learn from Pakistan nation s
resilience.

After his visit, Nawaz Sharif left for Uzbekistan on two-day official visit for talks on bilateral relations and regional peace and stability.
