Khawaja Salman Rafique terms child delivery at hospital's stairs 'shameful incident'
He urged the government to improve the situation of the government hospitals.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Chief Minister of Punjab s Advisor on Health, Khawaja Salman Rafique has termed birth of a baby girl in the stairs of the Lady Willingdon Hospital as ‘shameful incident’.
While talking to Dunya News he admitted the mistake and urged the government to improve the situation of the government hospitals.
Khawaja Salman Rafique assured of investigation against the incident and said that his family gets treatment in both private and government hospitals.
A day before, a woman gave birth to her child on stairs of Lady Willingdon in Sharaqpur area of Sheikhupura.
A resident of Sharaqpur by the name of Reshma Bibi gave birth after visiting Emergency Ward and Gynecology Ward of the hospital for 2 hours. To her despair, no response was given from the doctors due to which she gave birth to the child on the stairs.
After Dunya News gave the incident coverage, hospital authorities decided to admit the baby into child nursery and the woman to a ward.
