Pak Navy kicks off 'Sea Spark' naval exercises together with PAF, army

Pak Navy is playing vital role in NAP for the fight against terrorism, says Deputy Naval Chief.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Navy, together with Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and army’s air defense units, on Tuesday kicked off its ‘Sea Spark’ naval exercises to demonstrate its combat capabilities and alertness against enemy incursion. The exercises are expected to continue till the 12th of November.
During a briefing on the joint armed forces exercise, Chief of Naval Staff Operations Rear Admiral Kaleem Shaukat informed that the protection of Gwadar port and safe guarding economic development of the country was also an integral part of this exercise.

Admiral Shaukat further stated that the Pakistan Navy was playing a vital role in the National Action Plan (NAP) for the fight against terrorism. Admiral Shaukat also stated that the Indian fervor for war and it expansionist ideas for the region have been gaining momentum, however he assured that the Pakistan navy was more than capable of giving a befitting reply to the Indian aggression and carrying out prolonged operations in open seas.

The Deputy Naval Chief also stated that the Navy was facing a shortage in the defense budget, however further developments and successes of the navy were well under way on the basis of Force Development Plan.

During the briefing, the Deputy Naval Chief informed that the manufacturing of a missile boat, an oil tanker and a submarine is underway with the cooperation of China. He also said that the threat of pirates and sea bandits has also been eradicated in the North of Arabian Sea.
