Strong earthquake jolts most parts of Pakistan

Earthquake shook the ground in Kabul, Islamabad and New Delhi.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A strong 6.4 magnitude earthquake jolted most parts of Pakistan on Monday afternoon, the National Seismic Monitoring Centre reported. 

Tremors were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Shangla, Buner, Lower Dir, Mardan, Charsada, Peshawar, Swat, Muzaffarabad, Attock, Wazirabad, Daska, Sheikhpura, Gujrat, Khushab, Murree, Khyber Agency, Malakand, Sargodha, Nowshera, Bhalwal, Bagh, Rawlakot, Skardu, Gilgit, Chitral and other areas.

The earthquake spread fear and panic among the residents, however, no casualty or damage has been reported from any part of the country so far.

According to Ghulam Rasool, a senior meteorologist at the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the quake struck at a depth of 208 kilometres with its epicentre located near Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region.

The quake also shook ground in Kabul and different parts of India.
