Sindh Assembly passes resolution against Altaf, MQM members furious
Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has issued arrest warrant for Altaf Hussain
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh Assembly on Friday has approved resolution against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain with majority’s vote for speaking against state institutions.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) put forth the resolution. The resolution states that urging foreign intervention in country’s affairs is attack on its sovereignty.
While talking to the media after assembly session, Sindh Minister for Education and Literacy Nisar Khuhro said that no one is Mohajir, everyone in Sindh is a Sindhi. He said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would not tolerate any threat to country’s stability. PPP has fought against every ill element, he added.

As soon as the resolution was tabled, MQM members climbed up on benches to protest. The members denounced government and political parties for criticizing Altaf Hussain. Later on, the party made a counter move and presented a resolution against PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PTI. The resolution criticizes Zardari for delivering speech against state institutions.
On the other hand, Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has issued arrest warrant for Altaf Hussain. The court has ordered Hussain to appear in court on August 20.
