"Don't want confrontation with any institution, defended parliament during sit-ins, not Nawaz"

KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah has on Monday said that democracy in Pakistan is courtesy Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) only. He said that PPP doesn’t want confrontation with any institution. He said that PPP defended democracy and parliament against the sit-ins, not Nawaz Sharif, reported Dunya News.

Addressing a ceremony organized by PPP France, Khurshid Shah said that Pakistan would still have been ruled by some dictator if PPP hadn’t offered sacrifices. He said that PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and his daughter Benazir Bhutto embraced martyrdom but didn’t let democracy be damaged.

Talking on this occasion, Munir Ahmad Malik said that PPP is the only party to have sacrificed its leaders for democracy in the country.
