KP: Tripartite alliance of opposition parties demand KP govt to resign

There was planned rigging in local bodies election, results are still being changed: Mian Iftikhar

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The tripartite alliance of Jammiat Ulama-e-Islam (JUI), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Awami National Party (ANP) on Saturday demanded government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to resign. The alliance held a meeting in Peshawar chaired by Mian Iftikhar Hussain. Syed Aqil Shah and Shagufta Malik from ANP, Najam Uddin Khan and Rahimdad Khan from PPP while Maulana Shuja-ul-Mulk and Jaleel Khan from JUI participated in the meeting.

Talking to press conference after the meeting, the opposition leaders said that re-election should be held in KP. Mian Iftikhar requested other parties to support them in their protest, he said that he already had reservations on local bodies election Act 2013.

The leaders said that there was planned rigging in local bodies election in KP and still the results are being changed. They said that the Chief Minister is himself going to the homes of independent candidates and asking them to join his party.
