Mian Iftikhar's arrest in line with classic police tradition: IG KP

Imran's claims smashed to ground as IG Durrani confesses KP police is as good as rest of Pakistan's
PESHAWAR: (Dunya News) – Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan always takes pride in depoliticizing the police in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) police. However, his claims were shattered to ground on Monday as Inspector General (IG) KP police Nasir Khan Durrani confessed that KP police did exactly what police does in rest of the country in case of Awami National Party (ANP) leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain’s arrest, reported Dunya News.
Talking to Dunya News in its program Nuqta-e-Nazar, Nasir Durrani said that the protesters were enraged after the death of PTI worker Habibullah. He said that DPO was forced to promise the mob that action will be taken against ANP leader in order to get Mian Iftikhar out of there. “Then the FIR was written exactly how it is written in rest of the country under pressure”, he added.
Looking at IG Durrani’s statement, it can be deducted that KP police also gets under pressure. If Iftikhar Hussain was taken into custody only to save him from the mob, then why was he presented before the court handcuffed?
While Imran Khan continuously praises his party for depoliticizing the police, IJ Durrani’s statements portray a contradictory image.
