Asif Qayamat, Amir Baba of Lakhu group killed in police encounter
Gangsters were involved in killing of 20 people, attacks on markets, police station
KARACHI (Daily Dunya) – Two gangsters of Lyari Lakhu group got killed in police encounter on Wednesday near City Railway station area of Karachi. Police of Meethadar got the information that two gangsters were coming for extortion from a trader. Gangsters opened fire on police when police raided the area. Both of the gangsters got severely injured during the cross fire.
Police was taking the injured criminals to the hospital when they died due to severe injuries. According to Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Fida Hussain, the gangsters were involved in the killing of around 20 people including policemen.
SSP said that the gangsters were identified as Asif also known as Qayamat and Amir also known as Baba. He said that Qayamat was a very important shooter of the Wasi Ullah Lakhu gang and he was involved in attacks on markets and Meethadar police station as well. SP said that there were many cases registered against the killed gangsters in police stations of Lyari.
