Two more children die in famine-struck Thar
The death toll reaches to 340 in a span of 119 days.
THARPARKAR (Dunya News) - Famine in Thar claimed two more lives today (Wednesday) mounting the death toll to 340 in a span of 119 days.
One-month old Zaheer in Mithi hospital and eight years old Zahida died of dearth while being shifted to Hyderabad from Civil Hospital Mithi.
Despite the claims of the Sindh government to provide adequate facilities to the rural hospitals, nothing has been done in this regard whereas, the residents are still waiting for the government aid.
Thar has been facing scarcity of water, food and health facilities for three years but nothing considerable has yet been done by the government. Moreover, the sluggish distribution of wheat, blankets and dates caused trouble for the affected people.
Malnourished children suffering lack of vitamins, food supplements and other life saving drugs also need a balanced diet.
