Registration for all religious seminaries made compulsory
National Action Plan Committee decides to take action against religious schools assisting terrorists
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Registration has been made compulsory for all the religious schools by National Action Plan Committee on Saturday, Dunya News reported. The committee decided to take action against the seminaries that would assist terrorists.
National Action Plan Committee meeting was conducted under the headship of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and was attended by the representatives of the religious schools organizations and political and religious leaders. Activities regarding the implementation of National Action Plan were reviewed during the meeting. Detailed discussions regarding the seminaries involved in assisting the terrorists were also held on this occasion.
Former Interior Minister Senator Rehman Malik presented the recommendations from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) regarding reforms of religious schools. He told that a lot of work in this regard was done during PPP tenure. He said that the previous government had almost reached consensus on the syllabi of these schools. “Religious seminaries had also assured us of their cooperation against terrorism”, he said.
After detailed discussion on religious schools reforms, media policy was also discussed in the meeting headed by Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
