PM meets John Kerry, discusses bilateral relations

John Kerry also met Sartaj Aziz and discussed important matters of mutual interest

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Monday has met United States (US) secretary of state John Kerry in a one-on-one meeting. Both the leaders discussed matters of mutual interest and the situation of the region.

According to the details, Kerry has come to Pakistan on a two-day visit in which he will meet political and army leadership. According to the Foreign Office (FO), Kerry’s visit would kick-off a new round of Pakistan-US strategic talks.

In the meeting, both the leaders discussed the bilateral relations. John Kerry expressed grief over the horrific attack on Army Public School (APS) Peshawar and said that terrorists are common enemies of the US and Pakistan. PM Nawaz said that US is an important factor in formation of Pakistan’s foreign policy.

The PM acknowledged US president Barack Obama’s message and admired US’s support after the Peshawar attack. He also acknowledged US’s support in Bhasha and Dasu projects. He urged the US government to focus on foreign investment in Paksitan.

Earlier, John Kerry also met Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and discussed important matters of mutual interest and bilateral relations.

John Kerry expressed a resolve to continue supporting Pakistan in war against terror.
