The schedule of the elections would be released until April, says KP CM

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Pervez Khattak on Monday has withdrawn Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) demand of holding of local body elections in KP using biometric system.

KP CM met Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (r) Sardar Raza Khan regarding the local body elections in the province. The CEC told CM Khattak that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) could not vouch for the transparency of the biometric system as it does not have faith in the system.

The CM told the media that the results of the biometric system have not been satisfactory so they are withdrawing from their demand. He said that they have concluded the delimitations in the province more than a year ago.

He also said that the schedule of the elections would be released until April while the voting would be held in either May or June.
