Shah Mehmood Qureshi said more sittings with govt nor fruitful

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The deadlock between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is still intact even after Tuesday’s dialogue. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, representing the government, said that PTI presented its stance and that it will now be consulted with the party leadership. PTI vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the scope of further dialogue isn’t visible, Dunya News reported.

Addressing the media, Ishaq Dar said that the government has to take 21 political parties along and that the decision will be taken after taking all political parties into confidence.

Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal said that transparent investigation will take place on PTI’s concerns of systematic rigging. He said the government wishes the environment of confidence to remain intact.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that PTI had conveyed its point of view to the government on December 27 and that it was decided that day that Ishaq Dar will consult it with the government. He said Dar has sought more time today and that PTI is exhibiting extreme flexibility.

Qureshi said he will convey to the leadership that more meetings don’t seem very fruitful. He said they will see what the government committee says tomorrow.

Expressing dissatisfaction over negotiations, Qureshi said that the government is avoiding having to probe the alleged election rigging.
