Famine in Thar: Death toll rises to 179
At least 68 children were being treated at civil hospital Mithi.
THARPARKAR (Dunya News) – Another child died of famine on Saturday mounting the death toll to 179 in 73 days in Thar.
According to the details, a 20-day old Shehzeen died at Diplo Hospital while there were 68 children still being treated at civil hospital Mithi whereas two children were shifted to Hyderabad in the wake of their critical condition.
Lack of medical facilities has put innocent lives at risk while the administration failed in meeting the needs of the affected people miserably. People remained devoid of wheat aid in Chachro whereas the fifth phase of assistance could not be initiated.
Relief teams were not set up despite administration and Health Ministry’s tall claims that is causing a disease-spread.
